Is a dialogue possible between designers whose works are more than one hundred years apart? The exhibition will present the work by designers from the Studio Koncern. Graduates from the FAVU VUT in Brno, Martin Immrich and Jiří Přibyl, are among the most successful Czech designers. For their works they have received the Red Dot Design Award, an equivalent of the film Oscar for designers. Their work ranges between conceptual art and design in the purest sense of the word.
Reflecting developments in graphic design and visual culture for more than 50 years now, the International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno is one of the oldest and most significant events of its kind.
The theme of the 26th edition of the Brno Biennial is education in the field of graphic design and visual communication.
This thematically focused biennial will — through a wide range of exhibitions, lectures and accompanying programs — investigate the educational models of contemporary graphic design as well as the methods and approaches of individual tutors and schools. It will also look at the diversity of specific schools, the influence of architecture on education, and the relationship between theory and practice.
