It's all see-and-be-seen, whether in the dimly lit lounge or courtyard restaurant. This fashionable palace hotel, right on the boutique-filled Avenue Montaigne, was featured on the last episode of Sex and the City and draws a predictably glam clientele. The recent renovation by bad-boy designer Philippe Starck and his daughter, Alma, had fans and foes, but despite the buzzing new lobby area, the Meurice remains a grande dame at heart. Rooms are done with imagination and whimsy (think painted furniture, white shag carpet and splashes of color).
