This is one of the strangest pieces I've seen in NYC in a while, the title even moreso.

Anyone else see this? Anyone know what this artist's other work is like? I don't, but I'd be curious to hear.

i liked it, (have to revisit... it has been a bit) ... if i recall the whole thing worked together wall text and all like a traditional museum diarama with a twist

just watch that tech. suspension of dis-belief is everything.

Yeah, the face lacked the virtuousity of the rest of the body. Still, impressive.

The above posts make me wish I could see this work in person, and I'd like to hear more about it. BPrevidi, what (for you) makes it the "strangest in a while?" AIG, can you elaborate on your "tech" and "nology" comments? I think I get the diorama with a twist part. I might add the sense of "tableau vivant"?

Seeing Burford's picture at artnet link above, he looks (in that picture at least) exactly like a cross between me and my older brother when we were 15 or so years younger.

Ok, we've turned to corner of seriousness so I can be fool enough to make comments; having dated (and been jilted) by women of roughly the same class(I believe) as Ms Burford (I now live alone...) I think I can see someof the attraction, the effectiveness or her work, and also the pitfalls. Obviously I have a compulsion to install "postives"when I see "negations; I think so-ho, much of the"avant-gaurde" upper class, and, perhaps, certain substances begning with the letter c are all about negations. Ditto much of what is considered "gay society", -which is to say that much of what passes for the art world are in fact drug fuiled cults- perhaps negations are encouraged for what might be considered reasons of city planning;political expediency, and general "drug addict managements." (Not to mention ditching loosers like me... I guess she hated that old volvo...)

Jeez, some of this might even have a bearing on world events....

Ms. Burford is the best negation I've seen; I'm staying home. Out of my league. Beautifull, almost flawless, work.Tight, tight, tight.
