i like the idea of work which “challanges” the viewer, and askes them to ask questions, rather then simiply “please” or entertain... or perhaps decorate, like 90 % of the paper mache art in chealsea...

luckly however i have found this great new line of people who “clean” up dvd's so i can feel safe watching them... really you should look into this they don't mearly censor but rather completely re-edit the Directors intention.., creating whole new narratives!! and FINALLY FIlnally i found one that gets rid of that nasty homosexuallity... and god forbit, co-habitation

www.familyflix.net/guidelines.htm

www.familyflix.net/

Sex/Nudity
Female frontal and rear nudity, male lower frontal and rear nudity, sexual intercourse, heavy petting, groping, heavy passionate kissing between unwed couples, glamorized adultery, pornographic images including; magazine pictures, posters, portraits, drawings, painted bodies, some portrait paintings, some sculptures.

Inappropriate Dress
Extremely revealing clothing

Gratuitous Violence
Exploding body parts, dismembering, depictions of dismembered bodies, point-blank gunshots, excessive beatings, lethal instruments protruding from body, torture, rape scenes, excessive blood pooling, long exposure of corpses, close-up’s of bullet holes/gashes in the body, gruesome photos, depictions of children hangings.  (Please be aware that some war movies may still contain what some would consider extreme graphic violence.  An edited war movie is still a war movie and may be considered offensive.  Children portrayed in an evil or Satanic way, i.e. murderers, dark-sided, evil minded in a serious manner.

Innuendoes/Crude Humor
Sexual references, obscene hand gestures, flatulence, bodily functions, camera panning of privates (i.e. camera focusing in on a woman’s breasts) gross jokes, distasteful animal behavior (i.e. dog sniffing privates), perverted comments, racist or demoralizing humor

Profanity
All major English swear words (H**, D*, B**, F*, etc.)
Inappropriate references to Deity, (i.e. Oh my G
*)  Keep in mind that words used correctly are not removed.  For example, “hell” is a place and thus if the phrase “burn in hell” is used, it may not be removed because “hell” is being used correctly and not profanely.  The word, “to damn” means to stop.  Damn is not taken out if used as “to be damned” or “you will be damned”.   Likewise, a “bastard” is an illegitimate child, thus when someone is referred to as a “bastard child” and they are indeed an illegitimate child, it is also being used correctly.
FOR FAMILY FRIENDLY TITLES (F.F. Rating)
All of the above including slang terms such as, “Stupid”, “Butthead”, “Dork”

Non-Traditional Family Values
Homosexuality, perversions, cohabitation

You know someone said that the world's a stage
And each must play a part.
Fate had me playing in love you as my sweet heart.
Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance
You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue
Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange
And why I'll never know.
Honey, you lied when you said you loved me
And I had no cause to doubt you.
But I'd rather go on hearing your lies
Than go on living without you.
Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there
With emptiness all around
And if you won't come back to me
Then make them bring the curtain down.

Well there I was having a plate of lasagne and this dude comes in - all sweaty and hollow eyed. Asks for some bread. “Sorry I can't help you,” the guy at the counter syas. Please I'm hungry. No.
Can I have a spoon?
No.
Guy walks out muttering ski masks.
“what?”
Nothing, its just some people are mean. I ask you from the bottom of my heart for some bread.
“You're not hungry you're just cracked out.”

Then the door shuts.

Never ask for a plastic spoon.

art, well it's working out real good actually, finally, after lots of hard work and impoverishment. thanks for asking. just bought a very nice house in a very nice secluded part of my country, with wild grouse in the back and a view of the mountains. my second wife is much more beautiful than my first. we had great sex today, all menstrual blood and clutching the side of the band. i still have crampy feelings in my hips. she has the body of a 17 year old girl and the brain of a demmi voghel. an overly flattering dealer told me my new work was like a ‘kick in the stomach’ today, so that felt good. yes, all in all it's everything i'd hoped it would be. actually it's exceeded my wildest dreams.
in terms of what my values are, i'm not sure. i know what i like and what i don't. i think murakami is very smart, but aesthetically his work, and the work of his whole coterie does absolutely nothing to me. i'm bored by it's sources and its manifestation. i prefer morandi over mr.

But this new singer took over and the spirit of AC/DC lived on so try to listen to a bit of both singers cause they both are brilliant.

I also researched Earthships, closely related to aiding the Tree People's mission in that these environmentally friendly abodes offer an opportunity to greatly reduce the number of trees needed for housing an ever-growing population, and could thus potentially reduce the amount of deforestation that so threatens our environment. ”

Someone will start a VB thread im sure.

In the meantime here's my favorite part: Benefactor Erich Marx, who houses his collection at Hamburger Bahnhof, looked equally uncomfortable. “The women are not at all aesthetic,” he said, shifting in his tux. “It's not what I expected, and it's unsettling.”

It's fabulously unsettling-bet it's more of a kick in the stomach than shari. Women know what a kick in the stomach is all about!

Re: Some like it hot

by myprettypony (04.14.05 04:13 pm)

that's a good debate- when to throw yourself into the flames and when to retreat- probably depends on the individual but some like pollock or david smith or agnes martin or georgia o'keeffe made great art out of solitude whereas others made great art in the eye of the storm like de kooning or warhol or stieglitz

some like it when the heat is on.

by confusionIs nothing new (04.14.05 04:18 pm)

no, i am young(ish) i guess, endowed? endowed? with what? i am pretty happy right now pretty seemless between “work” “life” and “art”, — i would love to be more comfortable, trust me. but i think you do have to be willing to risk it all to make your work.

Re: Selective Memories

by sharikov (04.14.05 04:26 pm)

yeah, i ‘risked it all’ whatever that means, for a good part of my life - i hardly make viewer friendly work now, but once that ‘risking it all’ has gotten you where you need to be, you see something wrong with changing your goals, wanting your daughter to go to a private school, making inscrutable work just in order to remain punk rock. it's ridiculous. the only reason i can fathom for this ideology is that you, like far too many artists, have rich parents, and have never known what it's like to be absolutely poor, gathering cigarette butts from the library ashtray, going to a student dental clinic for relief. i'm tired of an art world dominated by the children of privileged white upper class americans. ‘risking it all’ doesn't make good art, desperation does.

between interrupting my fathers attacks on my mother and protecting my sister from various advances, trying to colour in a map of the appalachians for my geography assignment and goign to the volunteer head lice checkign nurse, you would also have liked me to be out working? get a job? how very victorian of you, after all, children are just shorter humans. suddenly everything about you jared, has come into sharp focus. do you say nigger in your head too? is that why you deride ‘commercial’ rap? you prefer the new folk-rap hiphop amalgam practiced by white and thankfully light skinned entertainers? kool moe dee, black as an egglplant, wanting gold chains and a mansion, that's commercial? but middle class white kids rapping obliquely about bush, that's non-commercial? you're the worst kind of conserative racist, masquerading as a video artist in NY. the greatest city in the world, as long as the negroes are working at the ticket desk at the MOMA, not inside

get a job. you might not be privileged in your mind, but there can now be absolutely no doubt about one thing. you're white. guess what jared, some people are born into poverty, a job doesn't change the fact that they're members of a lumpen class unlike anything seen for 1400 years

Body to Body

Your touch stimulates
sensations rushing
through my body.

Spine starts to tingle
as the blood begins
to boil and pump.

My body sticks against
yours-never want
to leave its presence.

Body wants to be:
shaded by your body
caressed by your hands immersed by your soul.

Want to be with you
when you are not with me
want you to be in me
want you to feel me
when I feel you.

My everything is your everything.

by broken flower (04.15.05 06:24 pm)

did you know...

that the fauves were called “wild beasts” by their contemporaries and critics. The term came from the art critic Louis Vauxcelles, who noted a classic Italian sculpture in the middle of a room at the Salon d'Automne that was also displaying a collection of Fauve works. Vauxcelles exclaimed: “Donatello among the wild beasts.” It was probably not a compliment.

Re: Selective Memories

by Jareth (04.16.05 01:57 pm)

let me guess. your a very lonely person.

Do You Need Counseling?

If you feel that your anger is really out of control, if it is having an impact on your relationships and on important parts of your life, you might consider counseling to learn how to handle it better. A psychologist or other licensed mental health professional can work with you in developing a range of techniques for changing your thinking and your behavior.

When you talk to a prospective therapist, tell her or him that you have problems with anger that you want to work on, and ask about his or her approach to anger management. Make sure this isn't only a course of action designed to “put you in touch with your feelings and express them”—that may be precisely what your problem is. With counseling, psychologists say, a highly angry person can move closer to a middle range of anger in about 8 to 10 weeks, depending on the circumstances and the techniques used.

Don't get near my stinger

by penelope (04.16.05 03:30 pm)

You failed my test again, Duuudles

Basho (bah-shoh), pseudonym of Matsuo Munefusa (1644-94), Japanese poet, considered the finest writer of Japanese haiku during the formative years of the genre. Born into a samurai family prominent among nobility, Basho rejected that world and became a wanderer, studying Zen, history, and classical Chinese poetry, living in apparently blissful poverty under a modest patronage and from donations by his many students. From 1667 he lived in Edo (now Tokyo), where he began to compose haiku.

But I guess he didnt go to school with Jeff Koons, so he doesnt know anything about peonies, bees or haiku

Santa Fe man, blind in one eye, shot in other eye

Kevin Bankens was able to get to a park after he was shot with a pellet gun.

Last Update: 04/13/2005 4:23:48 PM
By: Todd Dukart
Video

A Santa Fe man who was already blind in his right eye was shot with a pellet gun in his left eye.

Kevin Bankens, 35, was shot several times with a pellet gun Tuesday afternoon. He was jogging near the intersection of Calle Atajo and Avenida Linda.

Bankens, who was already blind in his right eye because of a fireworks accident, was hit in the left eye by one of the pellets. He was able to make it to a nearby park, where city workers called an ambulance.

Police are looking for a suspect or suspects. They said Bankens didn’t recall seeing anyone or any vehicles just before the attack.

His condition has not been released.

Anybody with information is asked to call Santa Fe police.

CherCough, this coming from a Neanderthal who can't even put ? at the end of their questions. And try some Vocabulary, like Jaredth, ur writing greys, a university no no. Insipidness paralyses and enervates the text into a sallowness bordering on the insoucient. ‘Neo=Nazi’ should be written Neo-Nazi or just neo Nazi. Since u don paint SonynCherikov u seem trivial and dull.

As 4 Penelopes rather bookish resort to ACADEMIC text, so u own intro to bland bland. Late Medieval/Northern Renaissance packs numerous examples of “School of's” who simply copy the works of innovators. Your poet seems in that vein, never bothering 2 look at a real peony, opting instead 4 other poems about peonies. If that's your idea of profoundness u need to go stick your head in some good compost. read on.

U dingy cunt, a peony emits a sticky syrup stored in its rather shallow tuburic root thru the crown along the buds sepals, attracting the red ant and the red ant only. The ants eventually slice through the sepals in pursuit of the sugar foliating the peonies showy bloom. The Ants du the pollinating. Bees hardly work the thick fragrant display and Y would they? IT REEKS OF THE DANGEROUS ANTS. So how is your poem nothing more than the tautological poetry about poetry? It's descriptivly wrong.

Instead of reading, sometimes u need 2 wake up and smell the peonies. Moreover a painting of a peony obviously has it so much over the dying poem. Start w/ Fantin-Latour.

Re: Selective Memories

by penelope (04.17.05 02:11 pm)

Obviously you've never heard of Basho, which doesnt surprise me.

There are so many types of peony. Here's one with a bee in it:

I like the fuller ones myself:
www.naturespromise.com/newpromise/Images/Japanese%20Tree%20Peonies/hatsugarasu.jpg

Basho vs. Fantin Latour. I'd like to be on a long hike with the two of them. Somehow I dont think theyd be fighting about who's work was “better”

so pen u show a photo of a 21st C peony from Caimbridge england to make your point about a wandering babbler who lived in a hut on an island near Kyoto in the 17th Century. What r u smokin bitch? anyway my point still stands get your fukin head out of googled jpegs and try gardening, u'll c y Monet luved it so. Leave the tautological info crawling to media droogs like zipjaredth. Figures the fukin limees wouldn't know a peonie from a starving William Baffin. That's a long cane w/ a floret habit who is much like your 'peonie', only poor fragrance yet hardy to 10 below.

The danger u run info slut Penelope is that u never dream your source could b wrong. U've bought the Baudrilardrian bullshit that there is only simulacra or Lacan's hermetically sealed system of signification which in turn he got from his association w/ Picasso thru the academic Puteaux group of Gleize and Metzinger, which interestingly enough numbered Duchamp, until D dared to mix w/ the Mongrel Futurists and was xpelled. Dubourd and the Situationists marxian spectacle just might b wrong.

One day the scales may fall from your eyes.

How like a winter hath my absence been
From thee, the pleasure of the fleeting year!
What freezings have I felt, what dark days seen!
What old December's bareness every where!
And yet this time removed was summer's time,
The teeming autumn, big with rich increase,
Bearing the wanton burden of the prime,
Like widow'd wombs after their lords' decease:
Yet this abundant issue seem'd to me
But hope of orphans and unfather'd fruit;
For summer and his pleasures wait on thee,
And, thou away, the very birds are mute;
Or, if they sing, 'tis with so dull a cheer
That leaves look pale, dreading the winter's near.

Some body has 2 buy the ptg. or have u 4gotten that's how we pay the bills?

U know the ability to dwell on something is what most artists do; instead of buzzing from one flower to the next, to return to our b metaphor. From Michel Angelo's figure to Rembrandt's face from Monet's Garden to Rothko's and Albers hommage to the Square. (did i mention dekoonings women?)

U neglect 2c the trite facile comparison Penelope attempted forcasts a deficit in accuracy. Most of u here r novices who when faced w/ library of painting knowledge, among other things, quit, start crying and then resort to mamb pamb name calling like ass hole, TOURIST ( i heart that 1, Adorno and Benjamin would find that the SYNECDOCHe to write home about), and so on. Anyway, if I'm the tourist, unable 2 speak the language as u say, and u have here such a professional argot of critical terms, then what does that make u? the loser who spends hours drivling on the net? Now I know Y u horse's asses r so lacking in deep structure or all husk to use the Chomskyian attempt @ language. U r the generation of gamers, from atari's to the game cubes, many of u still gaming Grand Theft Auto or bloody Bond still today, long after the makers of video games thought u would have stopped. What that position entails is that u never bothered to pick up CONTENT. U spend or have spent copious hours manipulating media (game cube to internet, iTunes videos, porn clips Jardeath to CNN to cell phone to La Cinema), fondness for a lasting donkey kong relationship I know, but this meant u have never gained a deeper sense of literature, art history, painting, car mechanics, drwg, bcause like my students 2day, u haven't the patience for old school media, reading.

Thus, if I asked ZipJarrywannab, to discuss at length the relationship of Bill Viola's video to an early gen of video users like Nam Jun Paik, he couldn't do it since Google won't have entries that compare the two artists, unless he lucks out and some curator posted an exhibition catalogue. ( i should chek) What u worker ants don't realize is that Google is the Doxia the Dominant Culture's Narrative, so 2 iTunes, CNN, the flicks etc, one nice baudrilardrian media spectacle. I realize u will say so what's wrong w/ dat. Well it goes back to the Penelope BEE, (so cute), how do u verify your source to measuere truth (i know i know, a dirty word)? Well considering i have spent a substainal amount of time with the work of both artists, lectures, books and performances... the only real similary would be the use of video, performance and installation. media. - and both had experiance with the commerical field. i think the main differance lays within the approch that the viewer needs to have,

Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me

Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me

Come on

Dizzy, drunk and fightin'
On tequila white lightnin'
My glass is getting shorter
On whiskey, ice and water
So come on and have a good time
And get blinded out of your mind

So don't worry about tomorrow
Take it today

Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me

Get stoned

Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Yeah
Have a drink on me
Come on
Oooh

Gonna roll around
Gonna hit the ground
Take another swing
Have another drink
Gonna drink it dry
Gonna get me high
Come on all the boys
Make a noise

CHORUS
Have a drink on me

From one place to another

Chorus:

Friggin' in the riggin'
Friggin' in the riggin'
There was fuck all else to do

The captains name was Morgan
By Christ, he was a gorgon
Ten times a day he'd stop and play
With his fuckin' organ

The first mate's name was Cooper
By Christ he was a trooper.
He jerked and jerked until he worked
Himself into a stupor

Chorus

The second mate was Andy
By Christ, he had a dandy
Till they crushed his cock on a jagged rock
For cumming in the brandy

The cabin boy was Flipper
He was a fuckin' nipper
He stuffed his ass with broken glass
And circumcised the skipper

Chorus

The Captain's wife was Mabel
To fuck she was not able
So the dirty shits, they nailed her tits
Across the barroom table

The Captain had a daughter
Who fell in deep sea water
And by her squeals we knew the eels
Had found 'er sexual quarters

god I at least can discuss the difference between the different dada centers,as i've done here in the past, not to mention teaching the material, all u can do is say it's some kinda je ne sais quoi. Again, vague, unknowing. While at Iowa working in the first ever Dada Archives w/ Timothy Benson, well published scholar in the field I got to know one of the production people in robert Wilson's group, yes The robert Wilson einstein on the beach and all that. We kept in contact; he's gone on to du work 4 Nam jun, lived in the same building I did on Mercer. so I asked him, if it was reasonable to assume that if someone like yourself who calls yourself ‘I do video’ couldn't discuss the differance between paik/Viola, then could we make a judgement? He said simply, not knowing the diff tween those 2 is like being a rock musician and not knowing the diff tween the Beatles and Hendrix. I rest my case your honor. The Jar-Arf knows no end 2 sophistry. The payoff however is that now u can't even say I do video since your credibility is shit.

Now as far your glib attempt @ associating Dada and some type of mamb pamb Zen being, Just Do It as Nike said, well remember i was divinely ordained 2b @ the original Woodstock arts/music festival (yes there were art works there). I designated the subtraction of automobiles from social xchange to be a prime suspect of what I christened as 'Natural DADA'. I am the founding member thank u and Chief Dadaist and president of the Universe. There4 i don just know dada, I AM DADA.

U probably still think Motherwell's babyish Dada painters and poets is all u need 4 dada. Try Dickran Taschian's SkyScraper Primitives. And at least i can cite relevant material on the subject, all u can du is repeat your u know something that only u can know about dada. Well Wittgenstein's famous beetle in a box trashes that shit big time, dud.

Another place where u r full of shit jARF-ARF. U imply that ‘armchair’ or reading texts knowledge is disdainful, yet we have an education system that is constantly telling us to read as children and as adults to keep the analytical functions of the brain active. Obviously u don't, which is y u have such a beginner's level brain. Finally, Penelope is reading bullshit ‘high-COO’ poems from some dead century and u don't take her 2 task 4 'armchairism'. once again, your own behavior put a noose around your neck.

address contemporary DaDA, the DaDA of your day and perception. How these Artists, sure lets start will Ball, have effected your life and work, or is Art something that begins and ends with the studio and the chopping block for u?

was just over on a B&H mission.. felt the sudden need to know where those green boxes come from and go, - turns out tracks go on a little elevatior down to right under the counter, every 8th roller is mechanised the rest just spin with the force. amazing system.

Feel a bit of poetry in my life
But it all could change in just one night

Reoccuring nightmares disturb
Everyone who let's them occur
The very same is true in life
So shed a little light to make it all right

Seems some lessons are not learned
Repeat the course or you'll return
Back to the part that was left out
Pieces of the part thrown all about

Looks messed up once more again
Cant cover it up won't pretend
Have to return to a new start
Pick another direction
Now comes the hard part

Fucked up never again

Except to sing for a rock ’n’ roll band
’cause in sleepy london town
There’s just no place for a street fighting man
No
Hey! think the time is right for a palace revolution
But where I live the game to play is compromise solution
Well, then what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock ’n’ roll band

There’s no place for a street fighting man

www.sfweekly.com/issues/1999-02-10/music2.html

Flipper, however, got around: Among others, Concrete Blonde, the Melvins, and Sebadoh have covered Flipper songs, and that's a homemade Flipper T-shirt Kurt Cobain's wearing on the liner sleeve of Nirvana's In Utero album. R.E.M. covered “Sex Bomb” for its Christmas fan-only single in 1994, while Mudhoney's Mark Arm wrote the liner notes to the 1995 reissue of the band's odds-and-sods collection Sex Bomb Baby. But that album, like everything Flipper's done, is currently out of print.

========================
Says it all; 2bad the nazi's didn't finish the job; peter plagens thanks 4 the compiment at least he gets published as opposed to the lame poetry here; Ellen, says it all.

I can adopt anybody's i d here cause i figured out or hacked the flaw in this system. I've xplained it b4 but idiots like Pen say it's impossible so i stopped xplaining. Isn't there a name 4 a disorder when people can't handle reality, denial mayb? 4 someone as brilliant as i am it didn't take long to get in. But there r holes in almost all systems, i mean i thought u were the gen who thought rSmithson entropy was the coolest thing around. Y esle r those dumb ass curators mounting yet 1 more show 2 set the record straight.

Moreover, Chericough, u never get on the internets as bush called it, with the idea that anything is secure. How stupid r u?

Like here i am doing flip out

Lower manhattan arts council is a great business incubator.

www.lmcc.net/Residencies/Open_Studios/Open_Studios_Current.html

I expect to see great things from these kids. Very professional show. Clean. I really enjoyed looking at their business cards. Evedently they are an international crowd - like Manhattan is the home to a lot of people from a lot of places and the LMCC really finds a good mix - Japan, Bulgaria, you name it. Some of these people have been assimilating for twenty years. Its hard, you know, being a foreighner in a foreign land. So grock it - they need you more than you need them. That's power for you. Go get it.

I liked the black air fresheners at Deitch - missed the band cuz I was too busy caging a bottle of orange flavored Mad Dog 20/20. Kind of like Alize without the class.

Next door stumbled on Guild and Greyschull - kind of a two degrees of separation thing on the potatoes - didnt give a close read, but potatoes are rad. Could be a Idaho thing or a Ireland thing. Neo Nazis to Famines. Overall a very concentration camp day.

Finished off at Barcade rocking TEMPEST.

All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
(spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
(Can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(Can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time

Well, I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Through all trials and tribulations,
We will travel every nation,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Through my trials and tribulations,
And my travels thru the nations,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

I don't care if it rains or freezes
As long as I've got my Plastic Jesus
Glued to the dashboard of my car,
You can buy Him phosphorescent
Glows in the dark, He's Pink and Pleasant,
Take Him with you when you're travelling far

I don't care if it's dark or scary
Long as I have magnetic Mary
Ridin' on the dashboard of my car
I feel I'm protected amply
I've got the whole damn Holy Family
Riding on the dashboard of my car

You can buy a Sweet Madonna
Dressed in rhinestones sitting on a
Pedestal of abalone shell
Goin' ninety, I'm not wary
'Cause I've got my Virgin Mary
Guaranteeing I won't go to Hell

I don't care if it bumps or jostles
Long as I got the Twelve Apostles
Bolted to the dashboard of my car
Don't I have a pious mess
Such a crowd of holiness
Strung across the dashboard of my car

ALT CHORUS
No, I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
But I think he'll have to go
His magnet ruins my radio
And if we have a wreck he'll leave a scar

Riding through the thoroughfare
With his nose up in the air
A wreck may be ahead, but he don't mind
Trouble coming, he don't see
He just keeps his eyes on me
And any other thing that lies behind

ALT CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Though the sun shines on his back
Makes him peel, chip, and crack
A little patching keeps him up to par

When pedestrians try to cross
I let them know who's boss
I never blow my horn or give them warning
I ride all over town
Trying to run them down
And it's seldom that they live to see the morning

ALT CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
His halo fits just right
And I use it as a sight
And they'll scatter or they'll splatter near and far

When I'm in a traffic jam
He don't care if I say Damn
I can let all sorts of curses roll
Plastic Jesus doesn't hear
For he has a plastic ear
The man who invented plastic saved my soul

ALT CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Once his robe was snowy white
Now it isn't quite so bright
Stained by the smoke of my cigar

God made Christ a Holy Jew
God made Him a Christian too
Paradoxes populate my car
Joseph beams with a feigned elan
From the shaggy dash of my furlined van
Famous cuckold in the master plan

Naughty Mary, smug and smiling
Jesus dainty and beguiling
Knee-deep in the piling of my van
His message clear by night or day
My phosphorescent plastic Gay
Simpering from the dashboard of my van

When I'm goin' fornicatin
I got my ceramic Satan
Sinnin' on the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
The women know I'm on the level
Thanks to the wild-eyed stoneware devil
Ridin' on the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
Sneerin' from the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
Leering from the dashboard of my van

If I weave around at night
And the police think I'm tight
They'll never find my bottle, though they ask
Plastic Jesus shelters me
For His head comes off, you see
He's hollow, and I use Him for a flask

ALT CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Ride with me and have a dram
Of the blood of the Lamb
Plastic Jesus is a holy bar

There is nothin that is cuter
than a smilin Jolly Buddha,
Ridin on the dashboard of my car,
I don't have no idol cuter,
comes in plastic, bronze and pewter,
Take him with me when I go afar.

Jolly Buddha, fat and squattin,
on a pad of aspirin cotton,
He's with me wherever I may roam,
When it's late and I start to hurry,
I know he ain't gonna worry,
He looks at me and all he says is, “Oooommmmmmm.”

There is nothing that is gaucher
Than eatin food that isn't kosher,
Right in front of my smilin Moses' face,
I'm afraid that he'll awaken
When I'm eatin ham or bacon,
And throw them Ten Commandments in my face.

I don't care if I'm broke or starvin'
As long as I've got a fish named Darwin
Glued to the trunklid of my car
God, I'm feeling so evolved
Drivin' with my problems solved
Proclaiming what I think of what we are

Riding home one foggy night,
With my honey cuddled tight,
I missed a curve and off the road we veered.
My windshield got smashed-up good,
And my darling graced the hood.
Plastic Jesus, He had disappeared.

cho: Plastic Jesus! Plastic Jesus,
No longer chides me with His holy grin.
Doctors in the X-ray room
Found Him in my darling's womb.
Someday, He'll be born again!

I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
He's the dude with the rusty nails,
Walks on water, don't need no sails
Riding on the dashboard of me car

I don't care if the night is scary
As long as I got the Virgin Mary
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car.
She don't slip and she don't slide
Cuz her butt is magnetized
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car.

Now I'm feeling quite contrary,
cos I got the Virgin Mary
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
There's no room for imperfection,
in my Catholic collection
Which sits upon the dashboard of my car

Jesus, Mary and St. Patrick,
now I've got the holy hat-trick
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
One more statue I've got to get
is the plastic Bernadette
Sitting on the dashboard of my car

Plastic Jesus, you've got to go,
your magnet's burst my radio
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
But I, won't lose faith and I won't lose hope
cos, now I've got a pope on a rope
Swinging from the dashboard of my car

Once as I drove to Knock,
at a petrol station I got a shock
at the special offers that they had for me
20 more points and I can barter for a Jesus with stigmata
to sit upon the dashboard of my car

Last song - totally like a Social Distortion kinda earnestness. I'm curius how that flew over.

Beattles riff - kind of daytripper. I cant quite track it in my head. I stopped listening to the Beattles. No real memorable experiences to them either. Im a real nowhere man. Oh wait, ya, my philosophy professors loved Yellow Submarine, the movie.

.....But nightmare as this was, it set me free of the prison that most people live in - the fear of what other people think. Only by breaking free from that could I now be going around the world talking about shape-shifting reptilians occupying the positions of global power. If you need people to respect you as your sense of security, there is no way you would do that - one key reason why it has so rarely been communicated before. That ridicule was a major part of my journey and it set me free of so much.

www.computercrowsnest.com/sfnews2/03_dec/news1203_5.shtml

Wild turkeys live in flocks organized by “pecking order.” This pecking order is a social ranking in which each bird is dominant over or “pecks on” birds of lesser social status. Pecking order has implications for people and nuisance turkeys. Turkeys may attempt to dominate or attack people that the birds view as subordinates. This behavior is most noticeable during breeding season. Once bold behavior is established, it can be very difficult or impossible to change. Turkeys may also respond aggressively to shiny objects or reflections. Since the stimulus to drive away the “intruder” is strong, and since the reflection does not disappear when the turkey confronts it, the bird will often continually display towards or attack the reflection until changing light conditions cause it to vanish.

T< M is a trademark, but not necessarily of or for japan, he says so himself.
There are a lot of free people bout these days and as TD mentions many want steps into the cultural world. How they get there, well one way is through the TM styled machine that kids work on design jobs, Internet projects and as freelance illustrators especially if the preferred relationship is to keep some component in the mainstream. But there are as just as many different assignments and directions as there are traffic signals here (beleive it or not not everyone heads to the illustration and html department at art school), so it is only fitting that the flat hang up it's cloak for the time being to let some air in for you guys over there>>> fetish is good as an initial, but initials change at the speed of the wind—different speeds along seasons rogermc.blogs.com/tactical/2005/04/artit_issue_7_c.html

"in order to refer humans to a position of aeshetic being'

maybe humans want more?

You are already
asleep. I lower
myself in next to
you, my skin slightly
numb with the restraint
of habits, the patina of
self, the black frost
of outsideness, so that even
unclothed, it is
a resilient chilly
hardness, a superficially
malleable, dead
rubbery texture.

You are a mound
of bedclothes, where the cat
in sleep braces
its paws against your
calf through the blankets,
and kneads each paw in turn.

Meanwhile and slowly
I feel a is it
my own warmth surfacing or
the ferment of your whole
body that in darkness beneath
the cover is stealing
bit by bit to break
down that chill.

You turn and
hold me tightly, do
you know who
I am or am I
your mother or
the nearest human being to
hold on to in a
dreamed pogrom.

What I, now loosened,
sink into is an old
big place, it is
there already, for
you are already
there, and the cat
got there before you,
it is hard to locate.
What is more, the place is
not found but seeps
from our touch in
continuous creation, dark
enclosing cocoon round
ourselves alone, dark
wide realm where we
walk with everyone.

As video of mud-pounding filled the TV screen, Diaz explained, “They (Nepalese villagers) continue to live in harmony with the world around them. It's a way of living very different than what we are used to. 1/2 bunch fresh thyme, leaves only
Salt and fresh pepper to taste
1 small baguette, sliced, toasted

Rice Ball Recipe - Japanese Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups steamed Japanese rice
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
2 sheets dried nori (seaweed)
1 slice of salmon
Salt to taste

PREPARATION:

Salt the salmon slice for 30min. Grill or fry the salmon slice until edges are a little burned. After the salmon cools, flake it into small pieces and set aside. Cut nori seaweed into a medium rectangler shape(need 8 of these). Put warm Japanese rice in a large bowl and mix in the salmon flakes and sesame seeds well. Wet your hands in water so that the rice won't stick. Put a pinch of salt on your hands and grab a half cup of warm rice. Form the rice into a round or a triangle shape, by pressing lightly with your both palms. Wrap the rice ball with a sheet of nori.
* You don't have to wrap a rice ball with nori if you prefer.
Makes 8 rice balls.

Sorry 2 take so long w/ the punch line, u c I paint 4 a living, do visiting artist things, critiques, sabbaticals, sell 2 gullible uppies who du video but want eye candy 4 their walls since video suketh like Jareth outside the sanctified walls of the bleached white male gallery, make lots of d'argent working a month or so at a print studio like @ Madison; anyway i paint 4 a living so i need to take long periods where i actually paint, i know, novel concept no 1 here would dare try, but somebody has 2 get down and lick the canvas. they especially like it when i put the brush up my ass and put down the sienna, cause u c u can do w/ a brush something that would take hours w/ a stupid video camera or draw, so, having to paint, wanting to paint, luving to paint means i don't always get back to the stupid non sequitors or equally stupid bad poetry, is that what it really is, i mean we all sorta know it's all written by J arf arf since he copied me w/ the idea of multiple aliases, although he's still miffed that i can adopt his identity but he can't mine, must be a linear left brain kinda guy, can't create, y he got into video since his drwg instructor told him u shouldn't draw anymore, please, seriously, u'll hut really hut somebody. I think i know what i'll do while letting some paint dry, i'll start critiquing the bullshit poetry, my point being nothing less than 2 make sure we all agree, well u and I jarf arf, we both agree that your ‘po ahems’ r not even good everyday language kinda thing, cause usually u simply quote from movies or what's on tv and google anything else which makes your ‘writing’ kinda mildewey, like the cellulite on that chuncky chik u were attempting to have an orgasm w/ but whom couldn't get u to u know do your business until u thought of Zip.

Bad poetry is everywehere - even howl sucks if you look at it sideways instead of the heartfelt self serving romantic tripe that it is. Gotta love it.

I mean I don't claim to write “poetry” because that requires that it be “poetic” in the sense of two roads diverging and stuff like that. I can't write that kind of poetry. It makes my kidneys bleed. Eat my noise. I'll chew through your mind :p

Who uses the term avant-garde? Trash culture? Classist carpetbagging? The artists I mentioned razed heirarchies such as these. Warhol and Koons have been said to be dealing with irony, but Murakami is not ironic at all. He produces objects and images that circulate in manga shops in Japan, while they make their rounds in galleries all over the world. His work occupies both markets at once. So, he has an oppurtunistic and shameless appraoch to commercialism that is strong politically and
conceptually. He's not exposing anything. He's using the mechanisms at hand to play with distribution, thus putting the ball clearly and fully in his seductive and powerful court. I think He's really doing something.

Who uses the term avant-garde?
==================
Actually, no body anymore; no manifesto's, no groupthink; pretty much pushing careers in order 2 avoid the 9-5 grind that turns u into insipid Jareth, w/o the cool embrace of bland.

Trash culture? Classist carpetbagging? The artists I mentioned razed heirarchies such as these. Warhol and Koons have been said to be dealing with irony,
===================
Y not state the obvious, as if no one has brought Irony up b4, but then as usual u can't mention anything specific that is ironical in their work? Moreover, w & k, will always since they care nothing about the making will always be 'school of du', although the irony w/ Du was that he DID care about the making very much, that is, took great pains to make his work look not made by humans, as i the Tzank check. I know u fools will all have to look that up.
==========================

but Murakami is not ironic at all. He produces objects and images that circulate in manga shops in Japan, while they make their rounds in galleries all over the world.
===============
Check it out, Les Levine pretty much covered this long ago, and pretty much that's all koons is doing now.

His work occupies both markets at once.
==============
Again Du's Monte Carlo Bond already did this, not to mention the many ‘science’ projects du took to conventions and science fairs, promoting a ‘product’ totally useless.

So, he has an oppurtunistic and shameless appraoch to commercialism that is strong politically and
conceptually. He's not exposing anything.
===================
Yeah, so when do we drop the bullshit art and just call his ‘approach’ business?

He's using the mechanisms at hand to play with distribution, thus putting the ball clearly and fully in his seductive and powerful court. I think He's really doing something.
=========
Gee thanks 4 the assurance like your view means anything such as ‘mechanisms at hand'? what the hell is that hoary beast, what Jareth uses to whack his weeny? U remind me of this woman in a seminar i taught on contemporary who had obviously read her Foucault and kept saying 'the state apparatus’ no matter what topic. Got pretensiously annoying as well as icky stupid. Again Du's Monte Carlo, dOppenheim stock market xchange, Les Levine's Jello on important doc' xeroxes @ Cornell, and so on. This is all tried and true Chewed Gum @ this point. C what i mean by not knowing your art history?

I'm still wanting to

how much of Ryan's work have you expeianced first hand? or spent time with? i feel you are most likely glancing and judging it on its style and meduim... much like comparing viola to paik... just because of “video”.. try looking a little harder at the Artists intentions. Ryan samples popular culture, to creat complex, often subversive or political narratives... of course you don't have to “know this” for it just to look cool, consiquenly he is able to apeal to a wide audiance. oh thats right, you get Pop as much as DaDA.

Re: Selective Memories

by thingsthatgo (04.27.05 09:58 am)

Yeah, but such smallz outta be shot with a good writer's word, don't you think?

Ryan McGuiness’s>>>>Alife and McGuiness define a lifestyle (sad wording) that is not stereotyped by one genre or trope (odd contraption, if not awkward contradiction). They re-enforce that this blending ( writer's trope, no?) that is occurring in art, goes way beyond the art world and thereby opening art to the public at large ( those who fuck-knows-what-they-are-looking-at-feel-good-doing-so). Alife and McGuiness demonstrate that art is in our everyday (buy this bag and don't think oo much baby).

Your evidence that I hate women? I like to give you a hard time, but you're not every woman, patti labelle.

What I said about RMcG is that the work has little to do w art history. It comes out of a design/commercial art background. And a street art background—it's basically stencilling. That's obvious fact, not a put down. Referencing acanthus leaves is not much of an engagement with art history. Now what Banksy did—plopping his paintings in the museums—that's about art history!!

Re: Selective Memories

by Jareth (04.27.05 12:47 pm)

“stylisticly” he comes out of “graphic design” tech. perhaps even the proliferation of vector based programs but his content goes far and beyond, how about the scupltureal elements, the maze of mirrors.. ? the soccer balls remind me of the basquiat helmet from the brooklyn muse. meets bickerton, perhaps he is to “new” for some people who can't get beyond the surface... however he reaches far and beyond the decortive (with out denying it) a similar vernacular (not style) as such historic figures as: Basquiat, Lichtenstein, Pettibon, Ruscha, Scharf, Warhol, Haring,

“Ryan McGinness is an artist who has exhibited his work internationally and been responsible for blazing a trail through the gap between art and design. By re-mixing and combining graphic vocabularies from a range of sources, his work comments on the iconographic conventions of our image-driven culture. His deft manipulation of visual codes gleefully subverts the systems in which they operate. “What moved me the most was the idea of young kids stationed at a check point and you've got a very very short period of time to decide about the car thats driving towards you...”

What are we risking here Bruce? No one doubts Bruce feels - many people have the capacity to feel. Bruce, Like a graphic designer, risks little, not like a true artist.

When I read Art Spiegelman's Maus I was blown the fuck away. Evidently there were these mice that were imprisoned by these cats and stuff. What really intrigued me is that they wore clothes and had a western style civilization. Thats Von Daniken “Chariot of the Gods?” Material. Speaking of which....

RyanMC is a hard edged stenciler no doubt.
Not very sentimental. Definitely high class - those mirrors of his were spotless. Like Altjmed and Co. Who polishes all that glass? The illegal Guatamalan maid no doubt.

Is graphic design middle class? Yes, despite its elitist pretentions. Essentially graphic design is a clerical possition that encompasses design of containers, promotional materials, layering information for readability. The cognitive skills involved are not that advanced. No one is going to give a graphic designer a McArthur Grant or the like. Prove me wrong.

I'd argue that GD's cachet is going down by the hour as community colleges pump out masters of the latest software - how many of you know Photoshop CS, InDesign, Motion, Flash MX and so on? Do you think those dudes have ANY sense of history after filling their heads with these mental algorythms?

I can appreciate the use of stencils and the baroque swirls, but that stuff is old hat to graphic designers. Very nineties in style.
Dated, just like Ryan, from the designer's point of view.

If its an art historical point, then doesnt that make him a caged bird? If its just another rubics cube one liner, what is the point? Intellectual exercise?

There's a war going on and dudes fucking with mirrors. Fuck him, fuck them all.

I hope someone asks JB what he's listening to these days

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy
beg borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

“There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark.”

One time I was hiking in a canyon filled with rattlesnakes and other wildlife. One of my companions rolled a rock down the hill, something my parents had told me never to do. “Its dangerous'” they said. Later we saw a mountain goat standing next to a baby mountain goat. Did the rock crash through the bushes and hit the goat? No one knows for sure.

I read that Trent's giving it away::::

You're keeping in step
in the line
got your chin held high and you feel jsut fine
because you do
what you're told
but inside your heart it is black
and its hollow and it's cold

just how deep do you believe?
will you bite the hand that feeds?
will you chew until it bleeds?
can you get up off your knees?
are you brave enough to see?
do you want to change it?

what if this whole crusade's
a charade
and behind it all there's a price to be paid
for the blood
on which we dine
justified in the name of the hold
and the divine

just how deep do you believe?
will you bite the hand that feeds?
will you chew until it bleeds?
can you get up off your knees?
are you brave enough to see?
do you want to change it?

so naïve
to keep holding on to what i want to believe
i can see
but i keep holding on and on and on and on

will you bite the hand the feeds you?
will you stay down on your knees?

I always tell them we're not supposed to do it, but then my husband throws a rock and pretty soon we're all hurling huge boulders down the canyon

this kid i sat next to in trigonometry died just after high school by sliding off the edge of a cliff when he was mountain climbing with his friend in the rockies...the kid who sat in front of him was a mormon who had his wisdom teeth extracted and strung up on a necklace that he wore to class...his father was the chief of police in my town...he had like 13 brothers and sisters or something...

the ongoing feud here on talkback reminds me of what it must be like to be amongst a group of arts administrators or any group of people who are charged with making ‘objective’ decisions about artists or art...since all art's quality is a subjective opinion, any curator, art school administrator or gallerist that must reach consensus within a group is trying to do the impossible

Jarf arf, u bark so loudly, 2 much Lipitor. I 4got 2 mention above as far as the bozo some body referred to as interested in only the xchange and stuff, well let us not 4get, Hans Haacke great works especially his whitney board disclosure which rewrinkled a few face lifts. Haacke's corporate essays covered the above mentioned w/o aesthetics.

U spelled cowardly wrong. Like Jarf w/ your holding out your best info for Mr. Right (zip), do u think i give any of my research up? I simply mouth what is considered graduate level class material. My gripe is Jarf attempts to pretend he knows desperately googling shit. The Nam Jun/ Viola took care of that. U don't even know the background by your admission of your own chosen field.

How is art history anything but Second Hand, kinda intrisic to the field, but u hate all this shit anyway so let it go big guy. Deep breaths, many. As 4 originality, now there u go again, not being truthful. When I 1st did Bobo Brazil, and u hadn't figured it out yet, I called u a dickless penis and u gave me kudos 4 that. Ha, caught again feckless fart fart hiney butt poop. As a seventh dan Tiger Schulman's Karate blackbelt I have to watch what I do. I share the onus of an onerus burden.

For example, people walk up to me and can't get past the belt. They want to fight me or ask how they can get one too. What they don't realize is that there is a living breathing human being in this Karate Gi with the large Tiger Schulman's Karate patch on it.

I can admit I don't know what analytic cubism poetry is, and it sounds intense.

i need your help to fill me in on stuff like that. I can't do it alone. I hope that you are a team player. I'm cool with others having a creative role, just so long as the integrity of my creative product remains intact.

So jarf, have u calmed down yet? U've already claimed i'm a bully, attack dog etc. U need new material.

Now as far as the names, well they r the characters in my head ('all my friends r in my head'). u don want me 2 suppress them, besides when friends stop by I have them write something. I show them your bland stuff, which u think is great, and they take it from there.

I thought originality was bad in art and that's y u cut and paste everything, your ‘art’ of found info, like the old Stones songs, Street Fighting Man (now there 's a good joke, jagger as sfm). I can c u and zip out there battling republicans, posing like Gilbert and George.

Anyway, u still never answered, I came up w/ Hans Haacke as an example of the artist who's already done ‘exchange potlatch’ type stuff 2 show the above idiot his artist is chewed gum. Viable, applicable use of art history. That proves u r a shallow poseur and that I win. Of course I always win since u can't draw and I can do the takeover i d thing and u can't. So as Cartman would say, “eat shit and die, asshole.”

yawn.... give me a few days to dig out old slides and scan them, i don't have any drawings in digital form... as i didn't know how to use a computer at that point and i would be happy to e-mail them to you, you can be the judge of if i can draw or not, for better or worse i did have years classes... for years and years, and sell - (that is how you judge things nes pa?) it will be a while however as i am working days and nights this week solid...
anyho, i am fairly certian you can't paint for shit. i “sample”, see unless you know, - what is shot and what is appropreated from ur personal knowleadge bank you don't know what is original content and what is not or where it came from. pure simulacra. you on the other hand are fairly drull and apparent, and a lovely way to start out a shinny nyc day..

Finding found things in new contexts doesn't always work but when it does it works like a baby. Do you know babies are born every day? A baby boy and baby girl, even a baby du—imagine that! a baby du. It does happen, and probably quite often. After you get that title something else happens. There is this other title awaiting—another name, perhaps Jun, or Reiko, or Simon or Lisa, or even sometimes two possible dus with the personalizing straw at one end Simon and the other Lisa. Now many days will pass and that straw might even repass— Lisa marries a Simon, or Simon marries a Simon or Lisa marries a Lisa. Or, and it can come to pass, Simon and Lisa decide that the Simon and Lisa thing is OK as they are finding a new thing in an old thing in new contexts. All this is not very logical, and I couldn't have followed it without first following life. Du life.

Love to see them drawing not that it would sway judgment. Drawing are just drawing and something you look at—beats me why—that ain't logical either.

Re: Selective drawings

by rockhudson (04.28.05 10:44 am)

i don't draw to make good drawings and i doubt many people do as you have the first gesture and that one unmistable reality and that's it- i draw to be in touch with a truth that might otherwise be quiet and undiscernable in my sculptural work- i have trained myself over a long period of time to draw with my non-dominant hand and it's become a very efective practice...everybody knows that sculptors can draw well, we see things as lines

Re: Selective Memories

by Jareth (04.28.05 10:52 am)

will do ttg. located a slide scanner... will have to locate slides, haven't seen in years but they must be at folks house. wouldn't hold your breath, nothing very “deep” mainly drawings about people i was thinkn bout at the time, tight closeups, my roomate ken, a teacher, for some reason philip glass, and women in corsets from porn mags i found on the side of the road, then things moved farther from literal pictoral represention of subjects, and trying to understand the form in a more personal way, - basicly used a flood light and drew “shadow boxing”.. (this is all very enjoyable with a steady income of student loans and a huge studio..) segway to video happened through doing 16mm work which i consider small drawings as they delt with hand manipulation and delt with frame by frame... millions of very small drawings... the fact that i deal with video in a simlar way is what makes me enjoy this du thing all the more...

His central achievement is often seen as the personalizing of the medium, his transformation of the projected image away from the relatively neutral record of the world to which documentaries aspire to an expression of an individual's emotions, ideas, dreams, fantasies, visions, eye-music, closed-eye seeing, and nightmares. To achieve this transformation he marshaled — and in some cases pioneered — a daunting panoply of techniques, from out of focus and over and under exposure to rapid editing to painting directly on the film strip to anamorphic distortion to collaging objects directly onto celluloid to heating raw stock before exposure.

Yet they also coyly allude to Buren's assertion that the artist's studio is made to function like a boutique selling ready-to-wear clothing: the curator or collector visits the studio, selects the pieces that he or she wants, and leaves with a work of art that can be placed in any number of new contexts over which the artist has little or no control.

We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, OK?

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But that's me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

Oh the things that you say
Is it life or
Just a play my worries away
You're all the things I've got to
remember
You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone

We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

Say, we can go where we want to, a place that they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind

And we can dance

We can go when we want to, the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise them with the victory cry

Say, we can act if we want to, if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude or totally removed
And I can act like an imbecile

Say we can dance, we can dance
Everything's out of control
We can dance, we can dance
They're doing it from pole to pole
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody taken the chance

The safety dance
The safety dance
The safety dance

We can dance if we want to, we've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it we are never going to lose it
And everything will work out right

Say, we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
well they're no friend of mine

we may, or may not be aware of the disagreement among physicists about primary colors
===================
Yeah and painters were fools to listen to physicists. The existence of primary colors is irrelevant to painters as there r no pigments manufactured which r unbiased, some blues, ultramarine e.g. being claimed 2 b more red biased than prussian b and so on. The pigments in oil don't match w/ those of water colors, gouache and powders. Moreover the 20 C. scientizing of color is just plain wrong, i have never taught in class that the compliment to yellow is purple, for me it has always been as nature dictates, the most contrasting thing to the yellow sun is the blue sky. this comes from my own experience w/ paint, not what so many scientists and art educator slaves have attempted. Lastly when u get into underpainting, mixing in or juxtaposing warm neutrals vs. cool neutrals all the simplistic complementary schemes tend to fall apart, unless 1 is sticking to an arbitrarily monochromatic or ‘complimentary’ schema.

Lesson for J arf arf: don't b a slave 2 the scientists, they're all George Bush's.

They fit so well with what youre trying to say. Im sure youll reach so many people with what youve got to say.

of course like your web site but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
