I hold my nose at this plummeting level of criticism.
Is this really the best we can do for Wool in 2010? The additive/subtractive formula to his process and oeuvre has been manifest for some time now, as has the problematic (not to say pointless) use of color. I think it’s time we called a spade a spayed. Wool is cherished merely as the epigone of American abstraction, the sad sterile end to a long and labored Puritanism. Now step off.
