More obviously, the work revisits Johns' stencilled words, Landers' hostile vernacular and Prince's third-rate layouts for Ruscha typography. Not to mention Frankfort's frank fonts. This is crowded turf to say the least. And once again Bochner has not distinguished himself beyond a faded conceptualist's dull indulgence.
