    OUR TIME IS WITNESSING A massive drift toward the mechanization of life and the dehumanization of man. As a result, what might be called the ideology of conformism infects everyone, even those who class themselves as rebels and who rebel in the same way. The menace of conformism to freedom of thought and action and to the value of the individual is perhaps the most critical problem of this century.
