Hammer Museum Elects Four New Board Members

The Hammer Museum at the University of California, Los Angeles, announced that Jay Brown, the cofounder and CEO of Roc Nation—a full-service music, sports, and entertainment label that he established with Jay-Z and Tyran “TyTy” Smith in 2008—and Cindy Miscikowski, a civic, business, and philanthropic leader and a former member of the Los Angeles City Council, have joined its board of overseers, bringing the total number of members to twenty-two.

In addition, collector Bill Block, the CEO of Miramax who recently gifted works by Julia Rommel and Tauba Auerbach to the museum, and Darren Star, the creator and executive producer of various popular television series including Beverly Hills, 90210, Sex and the City, and Younger, which will air its sixth season next year, have been appointed to the institution’s board of directors, growing its membership to twenty-seven.

“Cindy Miscikowski, Bill Block, Jay Brown, and Darren Star are all extraordinarily talented individuals who are passionate about art and the creative culture of Los Angeles,” said Hammer Museum director Ann Philbin. “I am so thrilled to work with them during this exciting transformational time at the Hammer.”
