2016 DAVID C. DRISKELL PRIZE AWARDED TO MARK BRADFORD

Robin Scher of Artnews reports that Mark Bradford has been given the 2016 David C. Driskell Prize from the High Museum of Art. The prize was initiated in 2005, and it was the first prize in the United States to acknowledge significant contributions from African American artists.

Bradford, whose work resides in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, New York’s Guggenheim Museum, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, among other institutions, will be given $25,000 at a reception for the artist on April 29.
