Annie Leibovitz Archive Acquired by Zurich’s LUMA Foundation

John Chiaverina of Artnews notes that the LUMA Foundation, a nonprofit based in Zurich, has acquired the archive of American photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The first exhibition from the archive orchestrated by the foundation is called “Annie Leibovitz Archive Project #1: The Early Years,” which “traces her development as a young artist, and follows her successes in the 1970s as she documented the culture that defined this pivotal era,” said the foundation in a statement. The show will open on May 27 and run through September 24 at LUMA’s Arles branch.
