Annual MAP Fund Announces Grants Totaling $1,400,000

The MAP Fund has announced the recipients of its 2013 grants. The fund will provide a total of $1,400,000 in support of forty-one performance projects that involve seventy artists. Founded in 1988 by the Rockefeller Foundation, the fund strives to support art that examines notions of cultural othering, which can range from topics of class, gender, generation, race, religion, and sexual orientation to other aspects of diversity. This year, the MAP Fund will notably support choreographer Luciana Achugar’s OTRO TEATRO, composer Yosvany Terry’s Noches de Parrandas, and playwright Kristina Satter’s Mona’s House, among many others.
