ART DUBAI ANNOUNCES PARTICIPANTS IN INAUGURAL ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Art Dubai 2012, in partnership with the Delfina Foundation, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and Tashkeel, has announced the six artists and curators who will be participating in its inaugural artist-in-residence program. Hadeyah Badri, Fayçal Baghriche, Zeinab Al Hashimi, Magdi Mostafa, Nasir Nasrallah, and Deniz Uster were selected to be part of the three-month residency. Art Dubai has also selected Alexandra MacGilp as the curator-in-residence. Artists Fayçal Baghriche, Magdi Mostafa, and Deniz Uster have also been commissioned to make site-specific works for Art Dubai Projects. These artists were selected by representatives of the partner organizations and November Paynter, associate director of research and programs at SALT, Istanbul and director of the Artist Pension Trust, Dubai. The curator-in-residence was selected by AIR Dubai selection panel and critic H. G. Masters of ArtAsiaPacific.
