ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO NAMES NEW CHAIR OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT

Blair Kamin reports in the Chicago Tribune that Zoë Ryan has been named the new chair of the department of architecture and design at the Art Institute of Chicago. Ryan steps in after former chair Joseph Rosa left to direct the University of Michigan’s art museum. Ryan joined the Art Institute of Chicago’s museum in 2006, working as the department’s first curator of design. Prior to that, she was a senior curator at the Van Alen Institute.
