BARNES & NOBLE PUT WRAP ON COLLIER SCHORR MAGAZINE COVER

Bookstore chains Barnes & Noble and Borders have told the magazine Dossier that it must wrap it’s newest issue in opaque plastic, a requirement for pornographic magazines, because it features the nude torso of an androgynous male on the cover. The cover was shot by photographer Collier Schorr and features the male model Andrej Pejic wearing pin curlers and make-up. Elizabeth Flock writing for the Washington Post_ reports that the retailers were uncomfortable with the ambiguous gender implications of the photo saying, “the model is young and it could be deemed as a naked female.”
