Brooklyn Museum Appoints New Chief Conservator

Object conservator Lisa Bruno will be joining the Brooklyn Museum Conservation Laboratory as Carol Lee Shen chief conservator. An expert in the use of CT scanning to study ancient Egyptian human and animal mummies, Bruno’s served as an adjunct professor at the New York University Institute of Fine Arts and at Pratt University. She’s lectured widely and conducted workshops and is a professional associate of the American Institute for Conservation. Bruno fills a role left open by Kenneth Moser, who retired this month.

The Carol Lee Shen chief conservator position was founded in 2006 by Theodore Shen in memory of his late wife, Carol, a member of the staff of the museum’s conservation department.
