Artnet reports that the College Art Association has announced the winners of this year’s round of awards, to be formally announced at the organization’s annual conference in New York, February 14–17, 2007. Jerry Saltz has won the Frank Jewett Mather Award for Art Criticism, Will Barnet has won the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement in Art Award, Betye Saar has won for her Distinguished Body of Work, and Margot Lovejoy has won the Distinguished Teacher of Art.
In other news, e-flux announces that Rafael Lozano-Hemmer will represent Mexico at this year’s Venice Biennale. The exhibition, “Some things happen more often than all of the time,” will be curated by Priamo Lozada and Barbara Perea. This is the first time that Mexico will have an official presence, with a pavilion on-site at the San Marcos area.
