Robin Scher of Artnews writes that Carla Acevedo-Yates has been appointed assistant curator at Michigan State University’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. Marc-Olivier Wahler, the museum’s director, said, “Carla brings a strong curatorial focus on the intersection of social justice and contemporary art, as well as a wealth of experience as a respected international curator and writer. We are delighted to welcome her to the Broad MSU.”

Acevedo-Yates received a Ramapo Curatorial Prize for “Turn on the Bright Lights,” an exhibition she organized at the Hessel Museum of Art at CCS Bard in 2014, and a Creative Capital/Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant last year.
