The Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin is appointing Carter E. Foster deputy director for curatorial affairs and curator of prints and drawings, according to John Chiaverina in Artnews. The current Steven and Ann Ames curator of drawing at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Foster was responsible for coorganizing “America is Hard to See,” the first show at the Whitney’s new space in the Meatpacking District, which took place last year.
“As a curator, I’ve always loved finding threads that link art across centuries, mediums, and different cultural contexts, and I look forward to delving into the Blanton’s collection and shaping its exhibition program,” Foster said of his appointment.
