Catherine Crowston, chief curator of the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, has been named the institution’s executive director. For the past six months she has played the role of acting director, but an announcement on Monday made her new role official, reports the Edmonton Journal. Said board chair Barry Zalmanowitz: “She is one of the most respected curators in Canada, has excellent business skills and is a strong leader. These qualities make Catherine the perfect choice to guide the AGA forward.”
