ProjectArt, the arts nonprofit that provides free after-school classes and other programming for underserved youth, has announced that Charity Von Guinness was appointed director of the organization’s Miami branch. Since its founding in Harlem in 2011, ProjectArt has expanded to Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, and Pittsburgh.
Von Guinness joins ProjectArt from Miami’s Locust Projects, where she has served as the development and communications manager. Prior to this post, she worked as the membership and grants manager at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami. She succeeds Chana Budgazad Sheldon, who stepped down in January to become the head of the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami.
