After three years as curator at New York’s downtown nonprofit Artists Space, Christian Rattemeyer is to join the curatorial team of the Museum of Modern Art, assuming the position of associate curator in the Department of Drawings in 2007. Rattemeyer recently curated the exhibitions “H_edge” and “Baskets” for Artists Space. Prior to coming to New York, he was communications editor for Documenta 11 in Kassel, Germany, and founder and codirector of OSMOS, an independent project space in Berlin; currently, he also teaches at the Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College. Rattemeyer’s final curated exhibition at the SoHo gallery, titled “Elephant Cemetery,” opens January 18, 2007.
