College of William and Mary Receives $2.5 Million for Muscarelle Museum of Art

The College of William and Mary has received one of the biggest donations ever made to its art museum: Joe and Sharon Muscarelle are making a $2.5 million donation to the Muscarelle Museum of Art; the parents of Joe Muscarelle, in 1985, had donated $1.35 million for construction of the museum, reports Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The Florida couple also launched a $500,000 challenge and will match all new donations for the Muscarelle capital building project. With a collection of over five thousand works of art, the museum has staged shows on Caravaggio, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, among others.
