Crane Crashes into Dallas Museum of Art

A construction crane fell onto the Dallas Museum of Art Friday morning, coming to rest on the museum’s roof and causing minor damage to the building, reports Dallas Morning News’s Naheed Rajwani.

It narrowly missed hitting Ave, a 12,000-pound red sculpture by Mark Di Suvero (who notably trained as a crane operator himself as a means of creating sculpture).

The man operating the wayward crane was hurt but mobile, and the south end of the museum is closed for now, but the rest of the museum will open during normal hours.
