Cristina Salmastrelli Appointed Director of PULSE Art Fair

PULSE Art Fair announced that Cristina Salmastrelli has been named its new director. She will oversee the fair’s programming for its fifteenth edition in Miami Beach, which will take place during this year’s Miami Art Week this December. Salmastrelli comes to PULSE with more than ten years of experience producing national and international art fairs. She has contributed to PULSE since 2011 and serves as the US regional managing director of Ramsay Fairs, PULSE’s parent company. Previously, she was involved with the ADAA’s Art Show, the Outsider Art Fair, and the IFPDA’s Fine Art Print Fair.

In her role at PULSE, Salmastrelli will spearhead a new initiative: PULSE Perspectivos, a dual-language programming series presenting talks and tours in both English and Spanish. The upcoming edition of the fair will also roll out a new floor plan that aims to strike a balance between diverse selections of contemporary art and spaces for social gathering. PULSE will include the usual annual features such as the PULSE Prize, PULSE Project, and PULSE Play, the fair’s platform for video art. The list of exhibitors will be announced in the coming weeks.

“In honor of our fifteenth anniversary, we’re introducing a number of exciting elements with the goal of creating a unique environment for our guests,” Salmastrelli, said in a statement. “PULSE isn’t just an art fair anymore. It’s a full experience that allows visitors to access and explore artwork in a refreshing setting that promotes wellness and tranquility. I’ve had the privilege of watching this fair grow and evolve, and I’m committed to continuing its success as director.”
