Curator of Italian Pavilion at 2015 Venice Biennale Announced

Vincenzo Trione has been announced as the curator of the Italian pavilion at the fifty-sixth edition of the Venice Biennale, to be held in Venice next May, reports Hannah McGivern at the Art Newspaper. Trione is a professor of art and new media, as well as the vice-president of the faculty of arts, tourism, and markets, at the IULM communications university in Milan. He is also the youngest curator ever chosen for the role. Trione previously organized the 2003 Rome Quadriennale in addition to exhibitions such as “Post-Classics: the Revival of Antiquity in Contemporary Italian Art” at the Roman Forum and Palatine in 2013, “Salvador Dalí” at the Palazzo Reale, Milan in 2010, and “Confines/Valencia 09: Passages of Contemporary Arts” at IVAM, Valencia in 2009. His exhibition for Venice will be titled “Codice Italia” (Code Italy), and will be “an attempt to reflect on Italian identity,” as he told the Italian magazine Artribune.
