CYPRUS AND CROATIA ANNOUNCE ARTISTS FOR VENICE

London-based, Turkish Cypriot artist Mustafa Hulusi and Greek Cypriot artist Haris Epaminonda are scheduled to represent the Republic of Cyprus at this year’s Venice Biennale, reports Londra Toplum Postasi. Asked how he feels to be representing Cyprus, Mustafa argued that the focus of the Biennale is art: “It tries to circumvent politics,” he said.

In related news, e-flux announces David Maljkovic as Croatia’s representative to Venice. Selected by Zeljko Kipke, organized by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, and curated by Branko Franceschi, Maljkovic’s multimedia installation Lost Memories from These Days_ will take over the ground floor at Palazzo Querini Stampalia.
