Dealers Jeffrey Deitch and Larry Gagosian to Collaborate on Miami Exhibition
Dealers Jeffrey Deitch and Larry Gagosian have announced a collaboration, according to the New York Times’s Robin Pogrebin. The two—who are “historically competitors,” as Pogrebin puts it—will together be staging a figurative painting and sculpture show titled “Unrealism,” in Miami in December.
Opening in a twenty-thousand-square-foot space in the Moore Building in the Miami Design District, the exhibition will be on view the week of Art Basel Miami Beach. The developer behind the district, Craig Robins, let Gagosian use the space, who in turn thought of Deitch. David Salle, Urs Fischer, Elizabeth Peyton, and John Currin are some of the artists who will be on view.
“He’s one of the most imaginative, innovative curators out there,” said Gagosian of Deitch.
“Larry and I have wanted to do a project together for some time,” Deitch said. “Everything came together.”
