DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum Announces New Associate Curator

The DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts announced today that Sarah Montross will be the new associate curator as of June 2015. Montross is currently the Andrew W. Mellon postdoctoral curatorial fellow at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine. She has also previously held positions at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in addition to teaching at New York University and Hunter College, New York.

During the course of her three-year fellowship at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Montross curated the institution’s current exhibition “Past Futures: Science Fiction, Space Travel and Postwar Art of the Americas” and edited the accompanying catalogue which was copublished with MIT Press. After graduating from Vassar College, Montross earned her MA and PhD from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, where her focus was modern and contemporary art of the Americas.
