Detroit Institute of Arts Receives Grants to Digitize Collection

According to an AP report at the Daily Journal, the Detroit Institute of Arts has received three grants from several agencies and organizations, both local and national, to aid the museum’s digitization and conservation efforts. One is from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which gave the museum $150,000 to be dispended over two years and go towards digitizing artworks from the museum’s department of prints, drawings, and photographs.

Two further grants come from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and include almost $45,000 for a digital X-ray processor. The other $54,000 grant from the council will go towards supporting general operating expenses.
