Downtown Community Television Center To Build Documentary Theater

The nonprofit organization Downtown Community Television Center, has announced that it will construct a $3.2 million documentary-only movie theater. The theater will be 3,500-square-feet with seventy-three seats and will feature 4K digital cinema technology. DCTC was started in 1972 by the husband-and-wife filmmakers Jon Alpert and Keiko Tsuno. The financing for the theater is a combination of public and private sources, among them the office of the mayor of New York City, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, the Office of the New York City Council, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
