EAGLES OF DEATH METAL RETURN TO PARIS AFTER TERROR ATTACKS, AS BATACLAN THEATER PLANS TO REOPEN

Just over three months after terrorists stormed their performance at Le Bataclan killing eighty-nine people, Eagles of Death Metal returned to Paris for a concert at the Olympia. Yesterday, survivors from the November 13 attack were invited to a performance by the California band.

Speaking to Le Monde before taking the stage, band cofounder Josh Homme said, “Whether we want it or not, we can show a way to move forward, and grow from this experience . . . . Because rock and roll saved us in the past, it will save us again. People will not come tomorrow, because they simply cannot and that’s OK. They simply know that we were there.”

As the Associated Press reported, the Bataclan theater’s organizers have announced that the historic venue will host music shows again before the year’s end. It has been shuttered since being the site of the terrorist attacks last fall.
