FIRST FOUNDLING FELLOWS ANNOUNCED; NEW CAA.REVIEWS FIELD EDITORS

ART HISTORY

At a ceremony at The Foundling Museum in London this evening, the names of the first Foundling Fellows will be announced. Damon Albarn is the first Handel Fellow, Richard Wentworth is the first Hogarth Fellow, and Jacqueline Wilson is the first Coram Fellow. The Foundling Fellowship was established this year with the support of the Clore Duffield Foundation. The fellows are named after Thomas Coram, William Hogarth, and George Frideric Handel, the founders and benefactors of the original Foundling Hospital, which The Foundling Museum commemorates. During 2008 the three Foundling Fellows will work with the museum to develop original, creative initiatives for children.

In other news, the Art History Newsletter notes that the College Art Association has announced five new field editors for caa.reviews. They are Laura Auricchio (Parsons) for eighteenth-century European art, Villaseñor Black (UCLA) for pre-Columbian and colonial Latin American art, Cécile Whiting (UC Irvine) for American art, Patricia Hills (Boston University) for modern and contemporary exhibitions in New England, and Margaret Sundell for modern and contemporary exhibitions in New York and abroad.
