Ford Foundation Gives Nearly $100,000 to Oregon Arts Institutions

The Oregon Arts Commission announced that the Ford Family Foundation’s given out nearly $100,000 to eight visual-arts institutions, reports the Statesman Journal’s Capi Lynn.

The funds—a total of $95,690—will allow these institutions to acquire works for their permanent collections.

The Portland Art Museum’s getting $10,000, for the purchase of a work by artist Wendy Red Star, and Reed College in Portland’s received $8,500 to acquire a painting by Reed professor Michael Knutson.

The other institutions receiving funds are the Favell Museum in Klamath Falls, the Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Eugene, the Art About Agriculture Collection at Oregon State University in Corvallis, the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University, and the Schneider Museum of Art at Southern Oregon University in Ashland.
