FRANK GEHRY BRANCHES OUT INTO SET DESIGN

Frank Gehry is making his debut as a stage-set designer today, with the American premiere of Janacek’s opera Osud at Bard College’s Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, which the architect also designed. “I think it’s an area that’s ripe for architects to play in,” Gehry told the San Francisco Chronicle‘s Ronald Blum, “but it’s a different thing. It’s temporary.”
