FREDERIK MEIJER GARDENS AND SCULPTURE PARK UNVEILS $22 MILLION JAPANESE SCULPTURE GARDEN

Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids is inaugurating its twenty-two-million-dollar eight-acre Japanese garden after years of construction, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Designed by Japanese landscape architect Hoichi Kurisu, the garden is named for Richard and Helen DeVos, who helped fund the project. It features sculptures by Anish Kapoor, Zhang Huan, Jenny Holtzer, and Giuseppe Penone, among others.

“My wish is that the beauty and tranquility of this space will touch the visitors very deeply for many generations to come,” Kurisu said.
