GERMAN COMMISSION TO MEDIATE DISPUTES OVER LOOTED ART

Germany took new steps on Monday to give back treasures the Nazis stole from their mostly Jewish owners more than half a century ago, Philip Blenkinsop reports on MSNBC. Seventy years after the Nazis came to power, federal, state, and local governments announced the establishment of a commission they hope will mediate between German galleries and museums and individuals that lay claim to disputed works of art.
