Gianni Jetzer Named Curator at Large of the Hirshhorn Museum

Gianni Jetzer has been named curator at large of the Hirshhorn Museum, a position newly created by director Melissa Chiu, who assumed her post at the museum last month. Graham Bowley of the New York Times reports that Chiu added this role because she wanted a curator “based in New York City with the mission of tapping into exciting developments there and internationally to enhance exhibitions in Washington.” Jetzer, currently an independent curator and critic, is former director of the Swiss Institute.
