Guggenheim Foundation Adds Two New Trustees

Anneliese Cooper at Artinfo reports that the Guggenheim Foundation has announced Goldman Sachs senior partner Valentino D. Carlotti and private investor David Shuman as additions to its board of trustees.

Carlotti also serves on the boards of the American Ballet Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Shuman founded New York–based fund Northwoods Capital Management LLC.

According to a statement released by foundation chairman William L. Mack and president Jennifer Blei Stockman, he is “an in-depth collector of both Abstract Expressionism and contemporary painting” with “a thorough understanding of the international art market.”

The pair also noted that Shuman “has made possible a number of recent acquisitions” for the museum.
