As part of its thirtieth-anniversary celebration, the Hirshhorn Museum is displaying Felix Gonzalez-Torres’s monumental photographs of hands at outdoor sites around Washington, DC. A 25-by-34-foot photo curves along the barrel-shaped wall of the Hirshhorn, while a smaller version of the image went up Wednesday outside the National Gallery, Carl Hartman reports in the Washington Post. Other versions will be installed outside the Corcoran Gallery and at nine additional sites.
