Hirshhorn Museum Elects Five New Trustees

The board of trustees of the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden announced today that five new trustees have been elected to the Museum’s board. The new trustees are Haryanto Adikoesoemo, Jill Bernstein, Stéphan Crétier, Trinh D. Doan, and Jill Cooper Udall. The Hirshhorn has added a total of eight new trustees sincce Melissa Chiu became director in September.

Based in Jakarta, Haryanto Adikoesoemo is president director of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk, deputy chairman of the Indonesian Public Listed Companies Association, and a member of the Honor Council of APINDO, and the Young Presidents’ Organization. Jill Bernstein, a philanthropist and collector of contemporary art, also serves on the boards of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Aspen Art Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and Artis. She is a cotrustee of the Jill and Jay Bernstein Family Foundation. Stéphan Crétier is founder, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of GardaWorld Security Corporation. He serves on the boards of the Montreal Economic Institute and the Ligue Internationale des Sociétés de Surveillance and founded the Crétier Foundation, which helps young artists in emerging Middle Eastern markets.

Trinh D. Doan is a managing director and private client advisor at US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, and she serves on the board of the International Rescue Committee in addition to being a member of the Planned Giving Advisory Committee of the Museum of Modern Art and the Contemporary Art Council of the Asia Society. Jill Cooper Udall has consulted on museum issues for the Presidential Commission on Holocaust Assets and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, and serves on the boards of Ford’s Theatre, the Washington Opera, the Meridian International Center, and the Conservation International Women’s Forum.
