Payal Uttam reports in the Wall Street Journal that Hong Kong’s contemporary art space Para/Site has announced that Cosmin Costinas will be its new executive director and curator. The venue, currently occupying a former shop space in Sheung Wan, has held exhibitions that have been crucial in light of the fact that Hong Kong has no contemporary art museum. Costinas was previously the curator of the contemporary art center BAK, in Utrecht. Said Costinas, “I believe we will consolidate Para/Site as an internationally relevant critical platform for contemporary art and as one of the core institutions designing a new, multicentered global geography of art.”
