ICA Boston Names New Senior Curator

Andrew Russeth at Artnews reports that Dan Byers has been named the new senior curator at ICA Boston. This announcement comes soon after the museum announced Eva Respini would be its new chief curator. Byers is currently curator of modern and contemporary art at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museum of Art, a post he has held since 2009. He was also one of a three-person team who curated the 2013 Carnegie International.

UPDATE, January 12, 2015: The ICA Boston has also been gifted the Barbara Lee Collection of Art by Women from the collector and political activist Barbara Lee. The collection includes works by Louise Bourgeois, Tara Donovan, Marlene Dumas, Mona Hatoum, Cindy Sherman, Lorna Simpson, Sandra Cinto, Rachel Harrison, Eva Hesse, Jenny Holzer, Roni Horn, Louise Lawler, Ana Mendieta, Doris Salcedo, Joan Semmel, Amy Sillman, Kiki Smith, Shelburne Thurber, and Lisa Yuskavage.
