The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation announced a total of 5.2 million dollars in arts-program grants on Monday, the majority supporting New Jersey institutions, Peggy McGlone reports in the Newark Star-Ledger. The total represents a 10 percent increase over last year. The foundation’s executive director, David Grant, said boosting the amount of support for the state’s arts institutions was especially important this year, when state government funding was threatened.
