The International Association of Art Critics/USA has announced its 2005–2006 annual awards, honoring the best exhibitions of the season, reports Mairi Beautyman for Interior Design. Among the winners are Robert Rauschenberg’s “Combines” show, organized by Los Angeles MoCA, for Best Monographic Museum Show Nationally; “Dada,” for Best Thematic Museum Show Nationally; Robert Smithson’s Floating Island to Sail Around Manhattan Island_ for Best Show in a Public Space; William Kentridge’s “The Magic Flute: Drawings and Projections,” at Marian Goodman Gallery, for Best Show in a Commercial Gallery in New York; and Marina Abramovic’s “Seven Easy Pieces,” at the Guggenheim, for Best Exhibition of Time Based Art. An awards ceremony will be held at El Museo del Barrio in New York on February 21.
