Jenny Moore Named Executive Director of Chinati Foundation

The Chinati Foundation, in Marfa, Texas, has announced that Jenny Moore will be its new executive director. Moore previously served as associate curator at the New Museum in New York City, where she curated “Pictures from the Moon: Artists' Holograms 1969-2008” and cocurated "NYC 1993: Experimental Jet Set, Trash, and No Star.” She worked with Massmiliano Gioni as the exhibitions coordinator and assistant curator of the eighth Gwangju Biennial. According to the foundation in a press release, Moore, in her new role, will be “responsible for continuing to shape the realization of Donald Judd's vision for the museum,” which “encompasses the preservation of the museum's physical facility as well as the expansion of its permanent collection and the development of its programs, staffing, and endowment.” Andrew Cogan, chair of the foundation's board, said, “She brings proven leadership skills, extensive institutional experience and a strong familiarity with the work of our artists. Jenny is the right person along with our dedicated team in Marfa to lead Chinati as we continue to build on the extraordinary platform that Donald Judd created.”
