Jill Magid and Alexander Provan Win 2013 Vera List Fellowships

Artist Jill Magid and writer Alexander Provan have been named 2013–15 Vera List fellows. Selected for their work’s advancement of the discourse on art and politics, the two fellowship winners will draw on the academic resources of the New School, collaborate with students, and bring their work to the public through the Vera List Center’s public programming. An artist who’s staged solo shows at Tate Modern and the Whitney Museum among other venues, Magid will work on The Barragán Archives, a multimedia examination of Pritzker-prizewinner Luis Barragán. The editor of Triple Canopy, Provan intends to research the notion of standards and develop a book of essays on the topic.
