JOSé ROCA APPOINTED ADJUNCT CURATOR OF LATIN AMERICAN ART AT TATE

Tate has announced that it will appoint José Roca the Estrellita B. Brodsky adjunct curator of Latin American Art. The Columbian-born Roca, thirty-nine, was the chief curator of the 2011 8th Bienal do Mercosul in Brazil. He oversaw the development of the collection at the Banco de la República in Bogotá. He has also served as a jury member for the 52nd Venice Biennale. In reaction to his appointment Roca stated, “For many years I have worked on fostering the appreciation of the art from Latin America both locally and abroad. I am honored to be able to continue working in this direction with such a serious and prestigious institution as Tate.”
