Juan Andrés Gaitán Named Director of the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo

Juan Andrés Gaitán has been named the new director of the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City; he starts this January, reports Arteinformado. Gaitán is replacing former director Carmen Cuenca Carrara, the museum's director since 2011, who leaves after overseeing the extension of the museum and its reopening in August 2012. Gaitán has previously been an adjunct curator at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery in Vancouver from 2006 to 2008; curator of the Witte de With, Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam from 2008 to 2011; and most recently served as curator of the 8th Berlin Biennale last spring.
