Kitty Scott Named Co-Curator of 2018 Liverpool Biennial

Kitty Scott, the curator of modern and contemporary art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada, has been named a co-curator of the 2018 edition of the Liverpool Biennial. Meanwhile, Julie Lomax, currently director of visual arts, Australia Council for the Arts, will serve as the biennial’s director of development, beginning next year.

Scott had formerly also held roles including the director of visual arts at the Canadian Banff Center and chief curator at the Serpentine Gallery. She contributed to Documenta 2012 and has curated shows featuring Francis Alys, Janet Cardiff, Stephen Andrews, Paul Chan, and Peter Doig, among others.

Lomax has been the director of visual arts for the London region for Arts Council England, and was commissioner for the Fourth Plinth contemporary art project in Trafalgar Square.
