La Biennale de Montréal has revealed the preliminary list of artists participating in its 2016–17 edition, which will be titled “Le Grand Balcon” and which will focus on “a materialist and sensualist approach,” according to a statement released by the biennale. The festival is coproduced with the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, and will also be coordinated with fourteen other regional partners and venues. Philippe Pirotte is curating the upcoming edition with help from curatorial advisors Corey McCorkle, Aseman Sabet, and Kitty Scott, along with input from Sylvie Fortin, executive and artistic director of the biennale.
